Cinema connecting the planet with the city
Since 2003, Vitoria-Gasteiz and SUNCINE have shared a way of looking at the world: through cinema, stories and the people who help us understand the challenges facing our planet. The Showcase brings a selection of films from the International Environmental Film Festival to the city, extending its mission to raise environmental awareness.
Each film opens a window onto other realities. Biodiversity, the climate crisis, health and social justice come to life through stories that resonate with us, move us and invite us to question how we live and relate to the world around us.
The partnership between SUNCINE and Vitoria-Gasteiz City Council makes this meeting of culture, community and environmental awareness possible. It celebrates the value of watching films on the big screen and sharing perspectives on the challenges of our time.
Within the SUNCINE ecosystem, led by ACCIONS 3E, the Showcase embodies the purpose of its work with local communities: taking stories to new places, reaching new audiences and creating opportunities for shared reflection beyond the Festival dates.
Because a film’s impact does not end with the credits. It lives on in conversations, in the questions we ask and in the possibility of imagining, together, other ways of living on this planet.
