RESIDUS SUB · A Film Collection to Change Our Perspective
We are surrounded by waste. Some of it we see; some disappears from sight the moment we throw it away. But all of it leaves a mark.
Residus SUB invites us to look beyond the bin and discover what lies behind our consumption habits: the resources we use, the products we discard, the materials that can have a second life, and the environmental consequences of a model built on producing, consuming and throwing away.
At SUNCINE, we have created a collection of films dedicated to waste, exploring this reality through diverse perspectives, places and stories.
The collection is sponsored by the Agència de Residus de Catalunya (Catalan Waste Agency) and Ecoembes, with the aim of raising awareness of the impact of waste and promoting waste prevention, reuse and recycling. Through cinema, we want to encourage critical reflection and more responsible consumption habits.
Plastics, waste, recycling, reuse, the circular economy, pollution and new models of consumption all form part of a cinematic narrative that seeks not only to reveal a problem, but also to inspire new ways of relating to what we consume and discard.
Because waste does not disappear when we throw it away.
Changing what happens afterwards starts with changing what we do beforehand.
