The Official Section of the 33rd SUNCINE presents eight feature films, all premiering in our country, bringing audiences closer to some of the most pressing environmental and social challenges of our time. These eight stories cross continents and explore widely different realities, addressing the climate crisis, plastic pollution, the ethical limits of animal experimentation, the contradictions of the energy transition, and the complex relationships between people, wildlife and the territories they share.

From the international polar bear trade to coexistence with these animals in the Canadian Arctic; from the search for the last snow leopards in the Himalayas to the protection of ancient olive trees in the West Bank; and from lithium extraction in the Bolivian Andes to traditional knowledge, food and the essential role of women in the Brazilian Amazon. The selection also takes us into communities already adapting to the irreversible consequences of climate change.

Together, these films offer a global, engaged and deeply human perspective. They reveal not only what is at stake, but also the people and communities who resist, question established models, organise and seek new ways of living in relation to the planet.
