Plasticsphere (Full Film June 5)

On the occasion of World Environment Day (June 5th), the non-profit cultural association ACCIONS 3E, organizer of the International Environmental Film Festival – SUNCINE, in collaboration with the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID), is presenting a Special Screening titled “World Environment Day | SUNCINE – AECID.”

Several public television networks in Spain and Latin America will take part in the joint broadcast of this special program, with the aim of raising awareness, inspiring, and mobilizing citizens through the power of environmental cinema. This initiative reaffirms the shared commitment of SUNCINE and AECID to sustainability, international cooperation, and the dissemination of urgent messages in defense of the planet.

The documentary PLASTICÓSFERA follows Latin American environmentalists and scientists on a bold expedition across the world’s second-largest coral reef. Their mission is to investigate and document the severe pollution caused by plastics and microplastics, which threatens marine life, tourism, fishing, and human health. As they explore the ocean’s depths, they uncover the scale of the problem and its impacts on society and policy. The film highlights the struggle to raise awareness and the crucial role of research and activism in environmental conservation.
