Considered extinct for decades, the Mediterranean monk seal was rediscovered in a remote corner of Mauritania. Combining live action and animation, the documentary tells a double odyssey: that of a species hunted and displaced from its habitat, and that of the scientists who have devoted decades to preventing its disappearance. A journey from the African coast to its last refuges in Greece and Türkiye that keeps alive the dream of its return to the western Mediterranean.
