The mountain ranges of Colombia host the largest number of páramos on the planet: unique ecosystems from which spring various sources of water that nourish the majority of the country’s population. They create a magical atmosphere that mixes with the exuberant biodiversity in these territories and with the different forms of relationships that the people who live there establish. In parallel, gold and coal mining activities abruptly clash with these pristine sites which are fundamental to the ecological balance.
