A filmmaker leaves behind the comforts of urban life and travels across the world, on a quest to reconnect with nature. From the Bunlap tribe of Vanuatu to the silver mine workers in Bolivia, Mana is a cinematic tapestry of intimate moments and conversations between the filmmaker and the people of native communities. This ethnographic essay reveals how indigenous cultures, once deeply connected to nature, are transforming under the influence of modernity and are being propelled towards growing social inequality, where children involuntarily become the most vulnerable.
